Last night Lambda Literary presented its 2021 award winners online last night. Use this link to both seek the winners list and buy the books through an affiliated bookstore so a few support dollars go toward the organization.
For those not in the know (though if you’re following me, I’m not sure how you can’t know, but anyway…) Lambda Literary Society promotes and awards authors across the LGBTQ spectrum in a wide variety of genre categories. They host an emerging writers retreat each year, where a promising voice can go, expenses paid, to work with mentoring writers to improve their craft.
They used to alternate coasts for the annual awards celebration, but I believe the last several have all been in New York. Pre-pandemic they also used to sponsor public readings at various spots around the country where finalists would gather to read from their nominated titles. During the pandemic lockdown these were all moved online.
Lambda Literary Review has reviews of a couple of my titles and I submitted a few reviews (such as this one for J.E. Knowles Arusha) in the heyday of my podcast radio show. It’s a good organization for identifying LGBTQ books for your TBR pile and I recommend you bookmark it.
