Today’s post is just me blogging about something that moved me.

I don’t write stories about indigenous persons because, while I do have some Native American heritage, it’s very small and I am not personally connected to any NA traditions. I do, however, support wholeheartedly the process of returning to the Tribes the care of the lands that settlers took from them.

This article appeared in CNN’s Good Stuff newsletter today (April 9, 2022) and made me cry with pride for the Rappahannock Tribe’s victory. I also cheer Interior Secretary Deb Haaland (the department’s first Native American secretary) for her dedication to this process.
